Founded in Christchurch in 2007, Effectus started the journey specialising in IT governance. The name Effectus is derived from Latin which broadly translates as ‘Accountability for Results’. Since inception, Effectus has attracted high calibre consultants from a broad range of industries and backgrounds to provide the expertise and knowledge that ensure business value as well as the ongoing development and refinement of best practice practices and methodologies that we are extremely proud of.
Following the successful launch of the business in Christchurch, Effectus has built a strong reputation as the go-to company for IT governance, strategy and major systems selection and implementation particularly in local government, tertiary education, and agribusiness organisations throughout New Zealand.
2010 and 2011 brought significant change to Effectus as a result of the earthquakes affecting Christchurch. Under adverse conditions, the company and its consultants adapted to the new situation with Christchurch consultants working out of temporary premises for a protracted period. As with all disasters, new opportunities were presented that led to the development of the EPIC Innovation Campus initiative in Christchurch which is co-led by Effectus founder Colin Anderson.
Following the formal opening in November 2012, this initiative provided the Effectus team with newfound stability and a permanent roof over their head. The EPIC campus has developed into a major IT hub and a centre for innovation and high growth technology companies exporting to the world.
