Neil started work as a developer for the NHS before joining EDS and eventually making New Zealand his home in 1999. In July 2018 Neil decided to leave the world of Wellington central government and move down to Christchurch. He brings with him extensive experience drawn from health, education, Energy, Transport and the Justice sectors and a proven track record of working at the national level, and in roles as diverse as chief architect, programme director, customer relationship manager and strategic planner.
Neil was the founding president of the association of enterprise architects (NZ chapter) – and one of the longest serving members of the government Chief architects Forum. He has collaborated internationally with colleagues from the United States, the UK and Australia and represented NZ at international conferences in multiple industries.
Neil has been part of the governance structures for some of NZ government’s largest ICT investments – including the National System Develop Programme (Health), Justice’s ten-year investment plan and NZTA’s Intelligent Transport Systems Strategic plan and programme and is a prolific author of ISSP’s and Digital Strategies.
His classical music training and two decades in the complex authorizing environment of Govt. has left Neil convinced that relationships of trust and a consultative approach are critical to success.
